Oben Rorr - Deliveries Will Commence From First Week Of July

Oben Electric, a Bengaluru-based EV brand, will begin deliveries of the Oben Rorr, their performance electric motorcycle, from the first week of July. Just recently, Oben launched their first experience centre in HSR Layout, Bangalore.

Oben Electric has a network to distribute their EVs in the big cities of India and also are planning to receive 21,000 pre-orders by improving and upscaling their manufacturing capacity.

Oben's electric bike, the Oben Rorr, has a unique look to it and has been developed in-house. The EV complies with the latest Government regulations and safety standards for electric vehicles and batteries (AIS 156 amendment 3, phase 2).

The Oben Rorr has a 10kW IPMSM motor that lets the Rorr roar to a top speed of 100km/h. Also, the e-motorcycle accelerates from a standstill to 40km/h in 3 seconds flat. In terms of range, the Oben Rorr does not disappoint. It gives the user a range of 187km as per the IDC - the highest certified range for any Indian electric two-wheeler.

The Oben Rorr is also the safest electric two-wheeler in India. It uses a Lithium Ferrous Phosphorous (LFP) technology in the cell which is then used in the battery pack. This design provided a battery that can last double the duration and provides a heat resistance 50% higher than other batteries.

Oben Electric lets users charge the Rorr in half the time when compared to other electric two-wheelers in India. It gets the 4.4kWh battery to a full charge in only 2 hours.

Oben Electric is already testing, developing and going through R&D for their second product which is set to release in 2024. Also, they are aiming to improve performance, range, and lifespan through complex battery technologies, with the plan to reduce charging time and preserve Earth's valuable materials.

Finally, Oben Electric raised Rs. 40 Crore to increase their production capacity to 100,000 units per year at their manufacturing factory in Bengaluru and to earn the required amount to expand their distribution.
