MotoGP Germany 2023 - Martin Crowned As The New SachsenKing; Marquez Crashes 5 Times, Withdraws From Main GP
Jorge Martin, racing for Prima Pramac Racing, won the 2023 German MotoGP race at the Sachsenring on Sunday, cutting Francesco Bagnaia's championship lead to only 16 points. Completing the podium was Francesco Bagania, racing for Ducati Lenovo, and Johann Zarco, also riding for Prima Pramac Racing. Again, we see an all-Ducati podium.
This was Martin's second win of the weekend, as he took victory on Saturday, in the Sprint Race as well. He started on the second row of the grid, but come lap 4, Martin made a move on Bagnaia to take the lead.
On Sunday, Jorge Martin made his move even quicker, as on the 3rd lap he was holding the lead. Francesco Bagnaia tried hard, and with 10 laps to go, overtook Martin, but lost the lead again with Martin adding pressure to him.
Bagnaia and Martin, during their battle, had a small incident on the second-last lap where Pecco was pushing too hard, and as a result, clipped his front tyre on the rear tyre of Martin. Thankfully, though, both riders managed to stay on their machines.
The spell of success (winning 11 out of 11 races) at the Sachsenring for Marc Marquez came to a disappointing end. Marc Marquez did not participate in the race as he fractured his thumb during the warm-up on Sunday. Also, he had five crashes over the weekend resulting in his smart decision to withdraw from the main event.
The Top-10 riders of the main race on Sunday were all on Ducati machines, except for Jack Miller racing on a KTM, and Miguel Oliveira racing on an Aprilia. This season is strongly highlighting Ducati's dominance, with them coming out on top during almost all race weekends.

The next race in the MotoGP season will be held at Assen in the following week. After that, the MotoGP community will have a 6-week long summer break, before getting back on track again.
Thoughts On MotoGP Germany 2023
Ducati's Desmosedici bikes are thriving this season. They are currently one of the quickest and one of the most nimble bikes on the track - this is extremely visible also due to the fact that we have seen atleast one Ducati on the podium since the start of this season, with a few races having an all-Ducati top-three.
In the 6-weeks, Repsol Honda should figure out a new strategic plan for the bikes and riders, as both the riders aren't fairing well on the RC213V. Could this be another downfall of one of motorsports' most legendary teams?
