Ever since the first MotoGP Bharat ticket was released, over 30,000 have been sold to this day. MotoGP Bharat will be taking place from the 22nd of September to the 24th of September, 2023 at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida.
Inspections of the Buddh International Circuit will be done by Dorna Sports and FairStreet Sports before repair and modifications of the track take place. Manoj Kumar Singh, the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Commissioner went to the track to make sure progress was being made. Also, Arun Vir Singh, the CEO of YEIDA (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority) was satisfied with the progress made.
Pushkar Nath Srivastava, the COO of FairStreet Sports said, "International bodies, FIA and FIM have stringent requirements on the technical specification for tracks on which the tier one races can be held, according to track certification. Out of nearly 23 F1 Circuits and 20 MotoGP circuits, only four circuits, London, Austin, Barcelona, and Austria, currently can hold both races. Buddh International Circuit will be the fifth track to hold this distinction."
Speaking about the safety features of the track and the FIM and FIA licensing, Srivatstava said, "Internationally-renowned racetrack design firm Driven International and their local partner, Solitaire Group, along with FairStreet Sports and the circuit developer (Jai Prakash Associates), will sart to change the track so that the circuit will achieve the FIM certification and retain its FIA certification. The track changes will also enhance the safety aspects."
Some new safety features include larger gravel traps at a few corners and extra safety barriers for the betterment of the bikers. Also, around a few corners, curbs have been removed and in other corners they have been added. Additionally, fencing has been moved further away to keep the bikes safe.
Speaking about the event, the CEO of YEIDA said, "The highly anticipated event will likely stimulate economic activity of Rs. 1,000 Crore in the state, especially in Greater Noida, and create job opportunities for approximately 5,000. The ticket sales will likely contribute nearly Rs. 100 Crore. The seating capacity of the circuit is 1.06 Lakh spectators."
