Maruti Suzuki Fronx Turbo Vs Hyundai Venue Turbo – Price, Powertrain & More
Maruti Suzuki recently launched the Fronx SUV in India and it is the 6th model in its segment to feature a turbocharged petrol engine. As such, here's a quick comparison between the turbocharged variants of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx and the Hyundai Venue.
Price & Variants: The new Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV with the turbo petrol engine is available in 3 trim levels. Moreover, prices for the Maruti Suzuki Fronx turbo petrol starts from Rs 9.72 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 13.13 lakh (ex-showroom).
In comparison, the Hyundai Venue Turbo is also available in 3 trim levels including the N8 trim (Venue N Line). Also, prices for the Hyundai Venue SUV with the turbo petrol engine starts from Rs 10.43 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 13.81 lakh (ex-showroom).
Powertrain: The Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV is powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. This engine produces 98.7bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 147.6Nm of torque between 2,000rpm to 4,500rpm.
In comparison, the Hyundai Venue also uses a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. However, this engine puts out 118.4bhp of power at 6,000rpm and 172Nm of torque between 1,500rpm to 4,000rpm.
Gearbox: The Maruti Suzuki Fronx with the turbo petrol engine comes with two gearbox options - A 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. In comparison, the Hyundai Venue Turbo also comes with two gearbox options, however, the South Korean carmaker is offering a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
Dimensions: In terms of dimensions, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx SUV measures 3,995mm long, 1,765mm wide, 1,550mm tall, and the wheelbase stands at 2,520mm. Additionally, the boot space of the Fronx SUV stands at 308 litres.
In comparison, the Hyundai Venue is 5mm wider, and 67mm taller than the Fronx SUV. Moreover, the boot space of the Hyundai Venue is 42 litres more than the Fronx SUV despite sporting a 20mm shorter wheelbase at 2,500mm.
Thoughts About The Turbo Variants Of The Maruti Suzuki Fronx & Hyundai Venue
With a starting price of Rs 10.43 lakh (ex-showroom), the turbo petrol variant of the Hyundai Venue SUV is expensive compared to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx (Turbo) with a starting price of Rs 9.72 lakh (ex-showroom). However, Hyundai counters this price disadvantage with a more powerful engine.
