Mahindra Scorpio Reaches 9 Lakh Units Sales Milestone – Scorpio N Completes 1 Year
Mahindra is celebrating the first-year anniversary of the Scorpio N SUV. To make matters even more special, the company also celebrated the 9 lakh unit sales milestone of the Scorpio brand at its Chakan facility near Pune.
Speaking about the Mahindra Scorpio, the SUV made its debut back in 2002 and marked the turning point for Mahindra. That being said, the model is currently the best-selling product for Mahindra, even surpassing the likes of the Mahindra Bolero SUV.
In fact, Mahindra managed to sell 9,318 units of Scorpio SUVs in May 2023. It is also worth mentioning that his figure includes the sales of both Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N SUVs.
Since 2002, Mahindra has introduced numerous facelifted iterations of the Scorpio SUV. However, a significant update was made in 2014, and this model received significant updates including a redesigned front and rear section along with a heavily updated interior.
In 2022, Mahindra launched the second-generation Scorpio and named it 'Scorpio N'. This model turned out to be hugely successful for the automaker. In fact, the Mahindra Scorpio N managed to bag 1 lakh bookings in just 30 minutes.
Despite the high demand for the Mahindra Scorpio N SUV, Mahindra continued to witness strong demand for the older model as well. As such, Mahindra launched the Scorpio Classic, which is essentially the first-generation model.
That being said, both Mahindra Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic SUVs are currently on sale in India. Furthermore, Mahindra recently launched the Scorpio N SUV in the Australian market, where it received very positive reviews.
At present, prices for the Mahindra Scorpio N SUV starts from Rs 13.05 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 24.51 lakh (ex-showroom). On the other hand, prices for the Mahindra Scorpio Classic range between Rs 12.64 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 16.14 lakh (ex-showroom).
Thoughts About The Mahindra Scorpio Range
The Mahindra Scorpio is a game-changing model for the automaker in India. Not only did the model generate plenty of revenue but also helped the automaker build its reputation. That being said, we expect the automaker to celebrate more milestones for the Scorpio brand in the coming years.
