Mahindra BE.05 Interior Revealed By Unlikely Source
The Mahindra BE.05 electric SUV coupe was recently spotted out and about in the wild for the very first time since making its debut in August last year.
Now the interiors (well the front section of the cabin) of this test mule have been revealed by a rather unlikely source. Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO (Auto and Farm Sector), Mahindra tweeted a picture of the car's interior.
The tweeted image gives us a first glimpse into the cabin of the BE.05 test mule. The image was taken when the upcoming EV was being driven by the Mahindra Automotive leadership team in Chennai.
The image shows that the test mule has retained the split cabin setup at the front which is made possible by the dashboard that wraps around the driver. Also visible are slim ac vents on the dashboard of the electric SUV coupe.
However, there are a few things in this image of the BE.05 that differ from the concept vehicle. First, there is only a regular-sized display sitting behind the steering wheel instead of the extended screen seen in the concept. This is expected to be changed by the time the BE.05 hits our roads in 2025.
The other change comes in the form of the steering wheel itself. The square two-spoke wheel with the display from the concept has made for a conventional round unit. However, considering this is an early-stage prototype, we can expect the production BE.05 to sport a wheel similar to the one on the concept.
Also seen is a large lever on the top of the dash which may just be the emergency kill switch fitted to most prototypes. Other features seen include a manually adjustable front passenger seat and an armrest on the door that looks to be an extension of the dash, similar to what we saw on the concept BE.05.
Thoughts About The Mahindra BE.05's Interior
The Mahindra BE.05 is the first of a big lineup of EVs from the firm that is set to start arriving by 2025. The cabin of this early test mule shows that Mahindra is looking to retain most of the design cues of the concept BE.05's interior.
