Spy Pics: KTM Electric Scooter Spotted Testing

Austrian two-wheeler marque KTM has been working on an electric scooter platform with its Indian partner Bajaj for quite a while now. And now the first fruits of this project has been spotted in the wild for the very first time.

The scooter spotted in Europe features a maxi-scooter design. The body panels on the spied scooter seem to be 3D printed parts along with some milled aluminium bits in the form of the swingarm and footpegs.

However, there is some confusion on whether this scooter will be branded as a KTM or will bear the badge of Swedish marque Husqvarna which is fully owned by the Austrian firm. Husqvarna has already shown an electric scooter concept in the form of the Vektorr in 2021.

The test mule sports indicators from the Husqvarna parts catalogue hint that this is the badge that the scooter is destined for. However, throwing that theory out of the bin is the fact that the tester is wearing KTM riding gear.

The battery pack of this upcoming electric maxi scooter is housed under the floorboard. The scooter features a prominent central spine along with an aluminium swing arm.

The KTM electric scooter is powered by what appears to be a mid-mounted motor with cooling fins ensuring that it deals with heat. The electric KTM scooter rides on multi-spoke 14-inch alloy wheels and sports disc brakes along with telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock.

Another feature of the KTM electric scooter that catches the eye is the large TFT touchscreen display that sits between the handlebar and the windscreen at the front. The TFT screen will display all the relevant information to the person in the saddle of the electric KTM scooter.

When KTM showed off its eMotion platform, it showed off two versions, one with a 4kW (5.36bhp) motor and the other with an 8kW (10.72bhp) setup.

The aforementioned Husqvarna Vektorr concept sported the lower-powered setup. The higher-powered version, which could very well be the e-scooter seen here may just be the one seen here.

Thoughts About The KTM eScooter

The all-electric KTM scooter whether or not it will bear the orange badge or a Swedish tag is something we're looking forward to with bated breath. Let's hope we get more details soon.
