Kia's OG Badass To Reveal New Face On July 4 - Official Teaser Out

South Korean carmaker Kia has confirmed that the facelifted Seltos SUV will launch on the 4th of July in a teaser video. The Kia Seltos was the firm's first-ever car for India when it launched in 2019.

The teaser video for the new Kia Seltos released on the firm's social channels shows off quite a bit of the facelifted SUV while keeping its tweaked front end under cover of darkness.

The teaser showed off the SUV's new-look LED daytime running lights along with the new-look taillights. The Kia Seltos is also expected to ride on alloy wheels with a new design when it arrives on the 4th of July.

The teaser also showed off the interior of the facelifted Kia Seltos, focusing on the new twin-screen setup for the infotainment and driver's displays.

While Kia has only started teasing the updated Seltos in India, the compact SUV has been on sale abroad for around a year now. The changes to the SUV have been detailed in the versions of the Seltos sold in other markets.

Apart from the design changes seen in the teaser video, the Kia Seltos facelift also features new controls for the HVAC system. The facelifted Seltos SUV is expected to sport a panoramic sunroof.

However, the biggest change will arrive under the bonnet and in the aids on offer for the person behind the wheel. While the Kia Seltos facelift is expected to retain the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines it currently sports, the updated SUV is expected to add the Hyundai Group's 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine to its arsenal.

This is the same engine that powers the Carens MPV. The engine also powered the new Hyundai Verna and updated Alcazar. Under the bonnet of the new Sonnet, the engine will produce 158bhp and 253Nm of peak torque and will be paired with either manual or automatic transmission options.

The Kia Seltos facelift is also expected to arrive with a host of driver aids, making it the first mainstream ICE vehicle from the brand to sport ADAS in India. The Kioa Seltos facelift will also come with six airbags as standard and will also feature hill assist control and vehicle stability control.

Thoughts On The Kia Seltos Facelift

The Kia Seltos facelift will bring a host of changes in all three areas that matter - design, under the bonnet and tech which should help the updated Korean SUV take the fight back to the Hyundai Creta and Maruti & Toyota's badge-swapping hybrid twins.
