BS6 Cars in India

The Maruti Suzuki Alto is one of the top-selling cars in the Indian market. The entry-level hatchback was recently given an upgrade. As part of the upgrade, Maruti Suzuki also updated the 800cc engine on the Alto to comply with the upcoming BS6 emission norms.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is the latest SUV-styled model from the brand in India. The Maruti S-Presso comes with an updated 1.0-litre engine borrowed from the Alto K10 producing the same 68bhp and 90Nm of torque. The Maruti S-Presso is offered with a host of features, good performance while also offering excellent fuel efficiency figures as well.

Maruti Suzuki Celerio is one among the many hatchback in brand’s line-up. The Celerio and the Celerio X have been updated with a new BS6 engine. Both models are equipped with standard features such as Bluetooth enabled infotainment system, steering mounted controls, airbags, ABS; among others. The 1.0-litre engine is made BS6 compliant and is available with an optional automatic transmission.

Maruti Suzuki Eeco is a people carrier from the brand. The Eeco has achieved some impressive sales figures for Maruti. The company has now updated the 1.2-litre BS4 petrol engine powering the Eeco to BS6 compliance. Apart from the engine, not much is changed as compared to the previous model, overall. The Maruti Suzuki Eeco is available in various seating configurations and there is a CNG option as well.

Tata Tiago is the brand’s entry-level hatchback. The Tiago comes loaded with features and with a host of colour options. Renault Kwid has been updated with a BS6 compliant petrol engine. Renault Kwid had received a major design update recently. This includes a new alloy wheel design, updated headlamp and tail light cluster, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors. The 800cc and 1.0-litre engine are carried forward to achieve BS6 compliance. The power and torque figures on both engines remain unchanged to its BS4 version. Transmission options include a five-speed manual on both engines and an optional five-speed AMT on the 1.0-litre engine.

Renault Triber sub-four meter MPV from the french auto manufacturer. The Triber MPV has received the BS6 engine update to its 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine. The power and torque figures of the BS6 compliant engine remain unchanged to that of the BS4 powertrain. The MPV offers seating for seven occupants and comes loaded with a host of features including a touchscreen infotainment screen with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is among the top-selling compact-sedans in the Indian market. In order to further improve sales, Maruti Suzuki has updated the 1.2-litre petrol engine on the Dzire recently to comply with the upcoming BS-VI emission norms.

Hyundai Aura is a compact-sedan from the brand. The Aura borrows its design cues from the Grand i10 Nios hatchback. The compact-sedan comes loaded with a host of features. This includes an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Hyundai Aura is offered with a total of three engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol, 1.2-litre diesel, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Aura is also available with a factory-fitted CNG engine options as well.

Honda Amaze is an entry-level compact sedan from the company’s line-up in India. The compact sedan is offered in 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel powertrains. Both engines are offered with a five-speed manual transmission and a CVT automatic. Rest of the features and equipment have been carried over from the BS4 models.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the first model from the brand to receive the BS6 update. The engine comes in the form of a 1.2-litre Dualjet Dual VVT engine. The BS6 engine on the Baleno also features Maruti Suzuki's Smart Hybrid Technology as well.

The Toyota Glanza is a re-badged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. The Glanza hatchback uses the same engine as on the Baleno, this is in the form of a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine with Smart Hybrid Technology.

Hyundai i20 Elite BS models are no longer offered with a diesel engine option. Powering the premium-hatchback is a single 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 82bhp and 114Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The i20 Elite continues to feature wireless charging, touchscreen infotainment system and more. However, the BS6 model features new headlamps and alloy wheel design.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has received a significant upgrade along with a BS6 compliant engine for 2020. The new SUV now comes with re-designed LED headlamp units integrated LED DRLs, new front grille, new alloy wheel design, revised front and rear bumpers, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the latest SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 104bhp and 138Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

Hyundai Venue is a compact SUV from the brand and has been sold in large numbers. The Venue features rounded contours with sleek looking headlamps and tail-lamps. The Venue’s diesel engines are updated to meet the BS6 emission standards. The 1.5-litre unit has been borrowed from Kia but with a lower state-of-tune in the Venue. Apart from the engine, there are no other changes made to the car.

Mahindra joins the BS6 line-up in India with the launch of an updated XUV300. The company has equipped their compact SUV with a BS-VI compliant petrol engine. The XUV300 will continue to feature the same 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine. It produces 110bhp and 250Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is one of the most popular MPVs in the Indian market. Maruti recently launched the BS-VI version of its 1.5-litre petrol engine. This engine produces the same 104bhp and 138Nm of torque as before. It also comes with the brand's mild-hybrid (SHVS) technology.

The Maruti Suzuki XL6 is the brand's premium MPV offering in the Indian market. The new six-seater MPV is based on the Ertiga and is offered with a single BS-VI compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine. This is the same engine which debuted on the Ertiga model as well.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz S is a sporty looking sedan of the standard model from the brand. Also, the Ciaz S sports a new BS6 compliant engine as well. The sporty Ciaz S features a blacked-out rear spoiler, new 16-inch alloy wheels, new fog lamp housing and few interior changes as well. The 1.5-litre BS6 petrol engine powering the Ciaz S produces 104bhp and 138Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque-converter automatic transmission unit. The engine also comes with Maruti Suzuki's SHVS ‘Smart mild-hybrid' technology as well.

Honda City has been one among the brand’s bestsellers in the Indian market. The company has recently updated the petrol variant of the City sedan. We expect the other powertrain options to join soon. The Honda City is powered by the same 1.5-litre engine producing 117bhp and 145Nm of torque. Transmission options will continue to feature either a five-speed manual gearbox or CVT automatic unit.

The Hyundai Verna has received a significant upgrade over the previous model. The new sedan now features a redesigned front fascia and new alloy wheel design. The 2020 Verna now features the company's BlueLink connected technology, new steering wheel design and more. The new Verna is also powered by a host of new engines including a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.

The Kia Seltos is the first product from the Korean brand in the Indian market. The Seltos SUV is positioned in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment. It is offered with three engine options: 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.4-litre T-GDI petrol; all of which are BS-VI compliant.

The Hyundai Creta has been heavily updated for the 2020 Model Year. The powertrain options on the mid-size SUV include: 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines churning out 115bhp, and 144Nm and 250Nm of peak torque, respectively. The 2020 Creta will also be offered with a 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit on the higher-spec variants.

Kia Carnival has been launched in India at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is one of few MPVs in the market to feature nine-seats with six of them being captain seats. Other features include dual-sunroof, multiple-zone climate control, steering mounted controls, UVO internet-connected features; among others. The new Kia Carnival MPV is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.2-litre diesel engine. It produces 197bhp and 440nm of peak torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission unit.

Audi has launched an updated version of their A6 luxury sedan. The new model features improvements and changes to the exterior and interiors of the car. The German auto manufacturer has also equipped the new A6 with BS6 complaint 2.0-litre TFSI engine. It produces 240bhp and 370Nm of torque, and comes mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, sending power to the front wheels.

Toyota Vellfire is a luxury MPV from the brand. The MPV comes loaded with premium luxury features and a hybrid engine. The 2.5-litre petrol engine produces 115bhp and 198Nm torque. It also has two electric motors to assist the petrol engine in the front and rear. Toyota also claims that the Vellfire offers an impressive 16.35km/l fuel efficiency. Other features include reclinable power operated and ventilated seats. rear-seat entertainment, power-operated rear sliding doors, dual sunroof; among others.

Mercedes-Benz GLC received a BS6 compliant powertrain with the launch of a facelift model in 2019. The new model also features the brand's new MBUX technology. The midsize luxury SUV from Mercedes-Benz is offered with two engine options that comply with upcoming BS6 emission norms. This includes a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel engines. Both engines come mated to a nine-speed G-Tronic gearbox.

Range Rover Evoque has been updated by Land Rover for 2020. The new Evoque comes with a redesigned headlamps and tail-lamps, flush-deployable doors; among others. It also features two 12.3-inch touchscreen displays for infotainment and climate control. The Land Rover Terrain Response 2 system ensures the Evoque to tackle off-road conditions as well. Range Rover Evoque is available in a 2.0-litre petrol hybrid (247bhp/365Nm), and a 2.0-litre diesel (177bhp/430Nm) engines. Both engines come mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Mercedes-Benz GLE has been updated inside and out for 2020 Model Year. The new luxury SUV from the brand is available in long-wheelbase models only. It features the brand's MBUX connected technology as well for smartphone connectivity. Other features include Burmester surround sound System, AIRMATIC air suspension, wireless charging, steering-mounted controls, four-zone thermotronic climate control; among others. New GLE is available in two variants: the 300d with a 2.0-litre diesel engine (245bhp/500Nm), and the 400d with a 3.0-litre diesel engine (330bhp/700Nm). Both variants feature a nine-speed automatic transmission unit.

Maserati Ghibli has received a new powertrain option to comply with the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The luxury sedan features signature Italian design and is exquisite to look at. New Euro 6c compliant V6 petrol engine comes in two states of tune. The lower spec engine produces 345.2bhp and 500Nm of torque, while the higher spec engine produces 424.1bhp and 580Nm of torque.

Maserati Quattroporte is a sports saloon from the Italian manufacturer. The Quattroporte also features the same Euro 6c complaint V6 powertrain that is found in the Ghibli and the Levante. The lower tuned engine is for the standard variant, while the higher tuned engine is for the S variant of the Quattroporte. The engine comes mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission as standard.

Maserati Levante is the brand’s luxury SUV offering to the Indian market. The Levante, although an SUV, still manages to carry the flamboyant Italian design to stand apart. The Levante is also the part of Maserati’s 2020 BS6 complaint model line-up in the country. The SUV will feature the same Euro 6c complaint engine and transmission options that are featured on the Quattroporte and Ghibli.

Audi Q8 is the flagship model from the brand. The Q8 is the luxury SUV from Audi and is feature rich. The Q8 is powered by a BS6-compliant 3.0-litre TFSI unit with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The engine produces 340bhp and 500Nm of peak torque. Lexus LC500h is a one of kind hybrid electric vehicle. The LC500h is powered by a 3.5-litre Atkinson cycle naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine paired to two 110kW electric motors. It produces a combined power output of 355bhp and 350Nm of torque. It also features a 10-speed automatic transmission unit. The Lexus LC500h features a modern and striking design with a large front grille flanked by sleek looking headlamps. Rolls Royce Cullinan is an SUV from the luxury car manufacturer. The Cullinan is available in a sporty variant of the SUV called theBlack Badge’. This includes a new black paint scheme, blacked-out exhaust pipes, new 22-inch forged alloy wheels with red brake callipers and a hand-painted Coachline running across the length of the SUV. On the Inside, it is a typical Rolls Royce and comes loaded with features luxury and technology to offer the most premium experience. The 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine produces 600bhp and 900Nm of torque. The engine is further mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, sending power to all four wheels.
