Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 & CS Santosh Go Dirty Dancing At Big Rock: Video
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is one of the most talked about motorcycles right now, and India's Dakar Ace CS Santosh just gave us our first proper look at it.
The upcoming Adventure motorcycle was revealed, hooning about in its natural environment at what appears to be the rally's ace's Big Rock Dirt Park in Kolar, Karnataka.
Santosh, who is the first Indian to compete in and finish the arduous Dakar Rally, is currently testing out the full-blown rally version of the Himalayan 450. Santosh is set to return to the world's toughest rally next year with the 450 Rally version of the new Himalayan.
In the video released on the Dakar specialist's Instagram page, Santosh can be seen riding, jumping and sliding all around on the road-spec Himalayan 450 ahead of its launch.
The road-spec Himalayan 450 will bring with it a brand new single-cylinder engine that is expected to displace around 450cc and produce around 40bhp and a similar amount of torque. The engine is expected to be paired with a new 6-speed gearbox.
The new Himalayan 450 is also expected to feature a staggered wheel setup clad in dual-purpose rubber along with long-travel suspension that can be seen being put through its paces in the Instagram video.
Royal Enfield is expected to launch the all-new Himalayan 450 by the festive season as it looks to deal with the increased amount of competition in the ADV segment.
The Himalayan's biggest rival, the KTM 390 Adventure, recently gained a fully adjustable suspension setup, and both Harley-Davidson and Triumph are set to encroach on its turf with new 400cc motorcycles in early July.
Thoughts About CS Santosh & The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450
It comes as no surprise that the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has surfaced in the hands of CS Santosh as the firm's American and British rivals start sniffing up its territory. Hopefully, the new Himalayan 450 lives up to the promise shown in the rally ace's video. And no, there are no reports of any broken footpegs.
