Spy Pics: Citroen C3 Aircross SUV Spotted Testing Ahead Of Festive Season Launch

The recently unveiled Citroen C3 Aircross has been spotted testing once again ahead of its launch during the festive season. The French SUV was unveiled to the world at the end of April.

The Citroen C3 Aircross was spotted by a DriveSpark reader as it was being put through its paces on the Bangalore-Chennai highway. The test mule featured heavy camouflage all around and was running on steel wheels.

The C3 Aircross looks to be currently undergoing final testing ahead of its launch later this year and based on the wheels it would seem this could be the entry-level version of the SUV.

Citroen revealed most of the details about the C3 Aircross at its global unveiling in April. The C3 Aircross is the largest of the vehicles from Citroen that are based on the CMP platform, the others being the C3 and eC3)

The Citroen C3 Aircross SUV measures 4.3 metres long and features a 2,671mm long wheelbase. The C3 Aircross offers 200mm of ground clearance which should help it deal with our crazy roads.

The Citroen C3 Aircross is powered by a turbocharged version of the French carmaker's 1.2-litre petrol engine which pushes out 108bhp and 190Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed gearbox.

In terms of its looks, the Citroen C3 Aircross looks like a raised version of the C3. At the front, Citroen's signature X-shaped daytime running lights (when placed together) are connected by strips of chrome that link up with the firm's Chevron logo.

The sides of the C3 Aircross sports bits of plastic cladding along with some large wheelarches that host wheels up to 17 inches in size. At the rear, the Aircross sports larger versions of the C3's squarish taillights. The lights are connected to the Citroen Chevron by pieces of black plastic trim.

The interiors of the C3 Aircross are offered in two seating configurations - 5+2 and 7-seater. Boot space will be a maximum of 544 litres without the final row of seats in play. The rest of the interior is the same as the C3 hatch.
