Ryan Reynolds Backs Alpine F1 Team: Rs. 1,795 Crore Investment

Ryan Reynolds, the famous Hollywood Actor, known for his roles in many movies, such as Deadpool, and a group of other investors have invested Rs. 1,795.08 Crore (€200 Million) to the Alpine F1 Team. Alpine will use this money to further grow and develop their team in Formula One.

Alpine F1 was looking for funding so as to be able to compete with the top dogs of F1, such as Petronas Mercedes, Redbull Racing, Ferrari, and this season, even Aston Martin Cognizant. Last season, Alpine finished 'the best of the rest', in 4th place at the end of the calendar. This year, Alpine is holding 5th in the Constructors' Standings, almost 80 points behind the 4th place holders, Ferrari.

Alpine's parent company, Renault Group, had mentioned that the group of investors had received a 24% stake in the team. The investors include Otro Capital, RedBird Capital Partners, and Maximum Effort Investments, the company that Ryan Reynolds is a part of.

This is not the first time Ryan Reynolds has put his money into sports. In November 2020, Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought the Wrexham football team and saw the club get back to its glory days after a 15-year-long wait.

Alpine's CEO, Laurent Rossi, said, "The incremental revenue generated will in turn be reinvested in the team, in order to further accelerate our Mountain Climber plan, aimed at catching up with top teams in terms of state-of-the-art facilities and equipment."

Alpine also announced that they have set a target for themselves to achieve Rs. 71,843.2 Crore (€8 Billion) in 2030 and to break even in 2026. The Alpine Formula One Team is only a part of the business, with the company looking to manufacture its own high-performance platform for their upcoming range of all-electric sports cars.
